SACRAMENTS OF THE CHURCH
Anointing of the Sick. If you or a loved one are having major surgery or are seriously ill and want to receive the grace and healing of the Anointing of the Sick, contact the Simon Parish Center. The hospital does not notify St. John when parishioners are hospitalized.
Baptism. Contact the Simon Parish Center 4 months before the birth to arrange for a Baptism Preparation session. No baptisms during Lent.
Communion to the Homebound. Anyone who cannot attend Mass because of illness or age and would like to receive Holy Communion should contact the Simon Parish Center. Eucharistic Ministers can bring Holy Communion to parishioners who cannot attend church including the hospitalized, homebound, and nursing home residents.
Confirmation. Classes are Sunday mornings in the school building during regular Religious Education class time (9:30-10:20 am).
First Reconciliation and First Communion: Second grade students attending St. John School receive catechesis during their religion classes at school. Children not attending St. John School, are prepared during Sunday morning Religious Education classes and the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Atrium classes.
Holy Orders. Persons interested in the priesthood are encouraged to visit with Fr. John Schmeidler, Capuchin Franciscan.
Matrimony. Either the bride or groom should be a registered parishioner. Arrangements must be made 4 months before the a wedding date. Contact the Simon Parish Center to make an appointment with Fr. John in order to schedule your wedding and receive information. No weddings during Lent. |

Due to the large enrollment for Marriage Prep, St. John is only accepting engaged couples from the following churches: St. John the Evangelist in Lawrence St. Lawrence Center in Lawrence Corpus Christi in Lawrence Holy Family in Eudora Annunciation in Baldwin Sacred Heart Tonganoxie
Agenda for MP Classes Weekend classes begin on Friday evenings at 6:30pm-9:30pm. Classes resume the following day on Saturday at 9am-5:30pm.
