Enrollment. To enroll in Religious Education classes, complete one of these forms: Traditional RE and Confirmation Sign Up Form   or Atrium Enrollment Form. You can also contact Lois Mersmann, 843.0109.

 

Confirmation. For 8th graders. Classes meet Sundays in the school at 9:30am. See details listed below under Traditional RE.

 

First Communion/Reconciliation: Children preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion are prepared in religion classes at St. John School, Sunday morning Traditional Religious Educations and/or during Atrium classes.

 

 

 

Traditional Religious Education. Children ages 4-8th grade are invited to RE classes on Sundays, 9:30am-10:20am, in St. John School located at 1208 Kentucky Street. The school phone # 843.9511. Classes begin in September and end in May. The 2nd grade class prepares for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. The 8th grade class prepares for Confirmation. 

 

CLASSES DO NOT MEET OVER THE SUMMER MONTHS.

CLASSES MEET 9:30AM-10:20AM IN ST. JOHN SCHOOL BUILDING LOCATED AT 1208 KENTUCKY STREET.

 

Severe Weather Policy: Traditional Religious Education classes on Sunday are never cancelled due to severe weather.

Atrium [Catechesis of the Good Shepherd]. Atrium classes are for ages 3-12, and meet in houses 200 W. 13th and 202 W. 13th on the parish grounds. Classes begin in September and end in May. Severe Weather Policy: Atrium classes are cancelled when the Lawrence Public Schools are cancelled. Announcements are made on the church website, KLWN (1320 AM), KLZR (105.9 FM), KANU (91.5 FM), Sunflower Television Channel 6, and ljworld.com.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCMENTS

 

Important information for Parents of children preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion in religion classes at St. John School or the Sunday morning Traditional Religious Education classes.

 

First Reconciliation will be Wednesday, December 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the church.

 

The First Communion Parent meeting will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the church. Parents only please.

 

The First Communion Masses will be on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Each student will be assigned

a Mass time.

 

 

Information for parents of children preparing to receive their First Reconciliation and First Communion in the Atrium program.

 

First Communion Extra Sessions will be held on Wednesday, February 17 and 24; March 3, 10 and 24, 2010.  The Atrium First

 

Communion Retreat will be Thursday, April 8 – Sunday, April 11, 2010.  First Reconciliation for these children will be in the church on

 

Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. These children will celebrate their First Communion at the 8:30 a.m. parish Mass on Sunday,

April 11, 2010.

 

ALL FIRST COMMUNICANTS WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE PARISH WHEN THEY ATTEND THE MASS OF THEIR CHOICE THE WEEKEND OF

APRIL 17 AND 18, 2010.
